Montgolfier Brother's Balloon Etching, French, 18th Century
A rare etching depicting the launch of Mongolfier brothers’s balloon on Septemper 19, 1783 over the Palace of Versailles. As an experiment to prove its safety for human passengers, a duck, rooster and a sheep were its only passengers, all of which survived the flight.
This etching is from Chez le Noir Md. Fournisseur du Cabinet des Estampes du Roi demeurant au Louvre, 1783.

The etching is in good condition with some paper toning. The framing is very good with little wear.
