Lord William, 19th Century Horse Sporting Print
A lithograph on paper after the 19th century engraving by J.B Mackrell, in turn after an original painting by William Joseph Shayer (English, 1811-1891). The work is titled Lord William and depicts a gentleman racing across the English landscape who, according to the text, won the race from London to Brighton in the “unprecedented time of Three hours and Fifty minutes” on October 14th 1842.

The print is in good condition. The matting has a few areas of spotting/possible stains. The frame is a handsome burl that does show some patina of age (scuffs and scratches).
