Offered is a set of five photogravures from Karl Blossfeldt’s Art Forms In Nature, 1929 edition. The frames were handcrafted in our workshop from salvaged wormy oak using a pinned lap joint contruction. The matting is acid free and the prints are framed under glass.
Included in this set are the following: plate 65 Salvia aethiopis or Abyssian Sage, plate 112 Centaurea macrocephala or Great-headed Centaury, plate 87 Brunella grandiflora or Large-flowered Self-heal, plate 100 Cirsium Can or Thistle, and plate 6 Winter horsetail and false horsetail.

Karl Blossfeldt was a photographer and sculptor from Berlin, Germany renowned for capturing magnified images of plants using a homemade-camera that could magnify up to 30 times its size. He gained respect the from artists and philosophers of the time and had a great influence of the surrealist movement.
