A Georgian oak chest with brushing slide, circa 1740, with three long drawers and a brushing slide above the drawer bank. The chest has a straightforward country form with shell detail at the foot, a bleached finish and patinated brasses.
43 inches wide by 21 ½ inches deep by 36 ¾ inches tall
Good condition with age-appropriate wear, wood shrinkage gap in two board top, later bleaching, surface variation, old repairs, and localized losses consistent with use and refinishing. The feet and drawer show repaired areas and expected historic handling wear.
