The painting is in very good condition. It is framed in a linen liner surrounded by a wood-toned frame with a gold lip. The framing is in good condition with minor wear.
Willian “Dean” Fausett (1913-1998) Born in Utah, he studied at Brigham Young University, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and Eastern Illinois University and later began his career teaching at the Henry Street Settlement House Arts and Crafts School in New York.
He was commissioned to paint maps, murals in addition to portraits of prominent figures such as Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan. He is also known for his Romantic landscapes which he produced throughout his decades-long career.
In 1945 he moved to Dorset, Vermont where he became an active member of the arts community.
He’s received many awards for his work which are included in collections of the Whitney, the Met and New York City Museum of Fine Art.
