A Chinese reverse-painted glass portrait of a beauty holding a fan, circa 1880, in a period wood frame. Late Qing Canton export executed in reverse with luminous enameling, the young woman wearing a blue mandarin robe with floral embroidery, coiffure with chrysanthemum and leaves, jade earrings, and ostrich-feather fan, against a pale blue ground.

Dimensions: Sight: 9 ⅛ x 13 ⅛ inches. Frame: 12 ⅝ x 16 ½ inches.

Condition: Presents well with stable condition appropriate to age. Losses to hand, lips, and shoulder; frame with patina and handling wear.
