c.1840s American Portrait Painting Girl With Dog
Circa 1840 American oil on canvas portrait depicting a young girl with King Charles spaniel. She sits in her green dress with missing shoe before a red curtain and window with cathedral, chapel or possibly garden folly.
There is a repair with inpainting in the upper right curtain and a small repair in the lower left. Some minor inpainted spots to left of her head and some crackling of the paint in the lower left margin. The surface shows grime and could be cleaned to brighten the appearance.
