American Chestnut Chest C. 1770
An American vernacular Chestnut chest of drawers made circa 1770.
A unique large-scale country piece possibly based on an earlier design with large stiles and three small drawers over two large drawers. Cherry secondary wood and rose head nails. Pulls replaced and showing several old repairs and warping. Old wood worm showing mostly in backboards and in feet.
Good condition with expected wear for a country piece of the period.
