1830 Engraving Abbotsford, The Seat of Walter Scott, Scotland
Offered is an engraving by Barber, after Shepherd depicting the front of Abbotsford House located on the Scottish border on the banks of the river Tweed.
This house was home of Walter Scott who assisted in its renovation and expansion. It became very influential reviving the Scots-Baronial style of Victorian-era architecture.
The print is hand colored and is in great condition with some faint mat burn discoloration around the perimeter. The frame and matting are in good condition with some minor wear from age.
