Hendrik van Rheede (Amsterdam, 1636–1691)

A pair of 17th century Dutch botanical engravings from van Rheede's “Hortus Malabaricus”. Published in Amsterdam c.1678–1693, the work encouraged by the Dutch East India Company documents the plants of the Indian Malabar region.

The engravings are framed in museum-grade rag matting and protected with UV protective glazing.
