Georgian Oak Two-Part Chest of Drawers, c.1800
Georgian oak chest of drawers in two sections with mahogany crossbanded frieze, blue sugar paper lined interiors, and oval brass blessed thistle pulls, with bleached finish, c.1800.
Upper section with two short drawers over one long drawer set on a lower carcass of two full-width drawers, all with cock-beaded edges. Oval brass pulls with thistle devices show patinated verdigris finish, and the chest stands on bracket feet.
40 ¾ inches wide by 20 ½ inches deep by 44 ½ inches tall.
Structurally sound and stable, with drawers running well and age-related shrinkage, abrasions, veneer losses and minor knocks to corners and feet. Blue paper linings intact but worn, with discoloration, creasing, and scattered losses appropriate to age.
